| I'm not going to sit here and play this blame game That has been going on for the last 12 hours. I'm not going to sink as low as to bring someone's kids into a conversation where they are irrelevant. I'm not going to sink as low as to take cheapshots at people who don't deserve it. I'm not going to post lies about someone that in my heart and head I know aren't true. With that said, I don't think anyone truly wishes "death" on this site. Some might claim it's easier. What I think is easier, is to just let someone else simulate. To let someone else step up in this time of adversity. Afterall, that is what Adversity is. That's what makes a league what it is, if it's meant to succeed it will do so through adversity. Being able to stand up, and work together through adversity, not against each other. The communication has long since been a problem, in our own way some of us have tried to address this situation. Sometimes, obvously not in the best way. Apologies have been given, but things have continued. Over the last 72 hours, people have extended the "hands of help" in order to try to make things easier on Administrators and Sox. in the last 12 hours, those attempts to help have seemingly ben smited. I see no reason to abandon this site. I see no reason to quit it. I do see reasons to make serious changes and evaluate the state of the situation. I think I speak for Most of this league when I say, it would be wished upon it, that the league lives, not dies, and continues. But in order to do that, we need to work together, we need to make changes and we need to allow people to help out and communicate with one another. We also need to be patient and not rush everything and every one. Things like this, in order to be fun, need to be taken cautiously and patiently. I am going to step aside now and let people respond to this however they wish. I just request that unlike all the other threads, you keep it civil, leave the cheap shots at the door, and talk, not about each other, but about the situation and your wishes/views upon this league. First of all, let me just say, that I don't know if anyone, other than maybe Ruskie, realizes or appreciates just how hard it was for me to type out such a controlled and civilized discussion. I do not think, nor do I support, scrapping this site, is the answer to our problems. I do think this can be worked through, but it's going to require many things. If that means replacing people with GM's that want to be committed, that will post things in the right forum, will update their rosters, picks, etc. properly, will help out, will step up and do the right things, then that's what needs to be done. I'm not going to start, or trying to, start some sort of lobby for me to be an administrator or take charge or anything like that. I have 0 interest in being an administrator on this site for multiple reasons, but that doesn't change the fact i have tried to, and still want to help out. I'd also like to suggest.. if we can resolve these issues, to appoint someone in this league with a "technical admin job" but in reality a maintainence job. In which there ONLY role as far as "power" would be to clear out old, useless threads and clean up the site, get rid of old/duplicate Trade blocks, and help keep the site organized. Since i like doing this I'd volunteer for this job immediately. This person would not have any true administration powers, beyond the ability to maintain forums and keep them cleaned out and neat. I don't really think that "post count" should matter on a site like this. I realize people like their post counts, but legibility and organization should matter more. I think we're at the point now, where we need to decide where we go from here. Whether it be to rip down and rebuild this site. Just keep pushing forward, or abandon the site. We need to decide as a forum what the best option is here. Whether or not we have a simmer change, administrative change, whatever is the best course of action. Changes need to be made that much is clear. Now is the time to make decisions and decide what those changes to be made are. I'm not convinced that a new site, will necessarily solve anything. As I still have part of me that believes going off to create a new site, is kind of refusing to work through the adversity this one faces. It says a lot about the future of any other league run by the same people, if they ever face the same type of adversity. Once you give up, it's all down hill from there. My big question is, is there anyone on this site, willing to do the work to revivie this site and get people interested in, to get it back on track and get things going? I am, but I can't do it by myself. So now... I guess I am lobbying for an administration position, so that I can help, so that I can do my part to get this site back on track and I'd like to see some dedication and some people step up and fight to keep this site going. It's not about the issues you face on the road you travel, its about the steps you take to continue down that road and get to your destination. _________________ |

| Alot of the issues I see, revolve around communication. There isn't a word really for just how important communication is. It doesn't matter whether you keep this site, or make a new one, if you don't have a solid foundation and flow of communication, you are still not going to accomplish a successful league. I've faced the same types of adversity in my own league and that's why I bring so much advice and opinions to this one trying to allow the administrators and simmer and Gm's the best opportunity for success. I am a believer that improved maintainence will help allow a simmer to more easily find information that needs to be processed and do as such. Advanced notices on Simulations and processes need to be made a mainstay. Again it all goes back to communication. | BarackObama4Prez wrote: | | Just give it up Wes. We're done. |
With all do respect Nerd, we're done (in your opinion) because YOU caused this situation by using a "placement" of frienship" to manipulate the rush of a situation. What you didn't expect was to get called out on it, and it to backfire in your face.
So I do not think, with all do respect, you hold very much weight in deciding the fate of this league.
Quite frankly, I'm so bold as to say this to Sox. If he's 100% sure he's done with his league, then give the league to me. I'll take it over, I'll revive it, and I'll fix the problems that exist here.
In all honesty Nerd, this, your continuous eagerness to create a league in order to limit the pm who join it, more or less, is just another example of a lack of communication._________________ |

I also think that in part Nerd wishes to get a team that has better starting talent, because he show-cased his superb GM skills by taking the Eagles, a potential playoff team, all the way to the #1 overall pick with a 2-14 record, and kicked it off with a lose this season._________________ Baltimore Ravens |

| 2 things. 1. Dragon, how could you do the sim? That part I don't get... retirements, progressions, you'd need all that info. 2. I could consider bringing it back if I see you all making a strong effort to revive it, but other than Dragon I don't see anyone serious enough. _________________ 2007 Washington Redskins 13-3-0, SUPER BOWL WINNERS |

Not trying to start an argument, but I think the Eagles season was a fluke. First off, they were the #2 pick, and if you didn't notice they have one of the top overalls (91) out of all the team in the sim._________________ 2007 Washington Redskins 13-3-0, SUPER BOWL WINNERS |

I wasn't so much talking about siming, but if there was simmer change, everything would just be reset. |
If you want to reset, whats the difference in switching to the 360?_________________ 2007 Washington Redskins 13-3-0, SUPER BOWL WINNERS |
