With the hiring of new GM ZSirvone28 and HC Nooch84 the Arizona Cardinals are making slow but sure steps towards where they want to be. Only a few roster moves have been made since the hiring of these two guys. A blockbuster trade where the Cardinals gave up WR Chad Johnson to receive two young studs on the defensive side of the ball in DT Shaun Rogers and CB Sheldon Brown. GM ZSirvone28 is a very defensive minded guy. He puts emphasis on a good line and a stellar secondary, and that's what he's getting here in Arizona. The DLine looks impenetrable with aging DEs Chike Okeafor and Bertrand Berry who create a great pass rush. As well as two big guys up front in ProBowl DT Shaun Rogers whom they just traded for, as well as perennial ProBowler DT Darnell Dockett. The LBers are sub par as of now, but they are hoping to get maybe one or two solid guys to come in and start through the DEEP LB draft this year. The secondary is virtually unbeatable with three out of four DB spots locked up. CB Lito Sheppard whom they just acquired along with CB Antrell Rolle makes it hard for any WRs to get open in the newly implanted Cover 2 system where the corners only job is to stop short passes. Both of these guys are physical and quick, being perfect for the new Cover 2 scheme. One, if not THE best, safety in the league is behind these two CBs. S Adrian Wilson is an absolutely monster. He does it all on the field... blitzes, covers, tackles, everything you can ask from a S. With the Cover 2 system he will be allowed to basically roam the field and make plays. Now the only weak link in this secondary is their other S spot. They may take a shot at a S early in the draft if it's BPA, but their first need on draft day should be to address their putrid OLine. GM ZSirvone28 is implanting a new system in Arizona... he hopes to have very athletic lineman. He likes running the ball on the outside, and more athletic lineman creating a better pocket because of their athleticism. Running the ball with a good mix of power and quickness is what he wants to create as well though. QB Matt Leinart is a rising star in the league. If anyone gives him time, he will rip your secondary apart. With three incredibly amazing WR studs developing in Henry, Jenkins, and Ginn... the Offense looks promising for years to come. If the Arizona Cardinals have a stellar draft, they could be playoff contenders this year. Although that would be very promising, GM ZSirvone28 is looking to build for the future...
