| patriots are getting one player they have been targeting for while that is okoyo, he has a good motor and a run stuffer, to get him they give up johnny dingle who is a great pas rusher DE (what he had okoyo playing) and a MLb/ OLB with some pretty good ratings by the name of kevin burnett
even though burnett is in final year he will still be free due to he not being over 77 makeing that fine for those looking about that in the TC
Patriots hope this deal gets approved as well as the Jags

| youve also got to keep in mind that a DE isnt going to perform as well at DT. That is unless they have very high strength. Guards are the strong ones usually where as OTs have got more speed. If you're running a 3-4 then the strenght is more of a factor for the DEs but regardless, a DE will typically not be as productive at DT if moved, even though the rating usually goes up. | |

| but really the DT will than not be able to rusher the pass or have the necceary speed to go catch the outside run or quaterback, which helps prevent big plays. also against a Qb that is agily that can run, would you rather have a DE that has been know as a great pass rusher or a DT that is strong
so really its win and take, also dingle isn't gotta have a bad streght prob around 84-85 range, okoyo is around 88-89

| No what I was saying is that Okoye was an 80 AT DE, which is where the Jaguars had him, so he will probably be rated higher at DT and IMO the Pick should be a 5th or 6th at the highest...since you can get players much better then Burnett in the 6th and even the 7th. | |

so really its win and take, also dingle isn't gotta have a bad streght prob around 84-85 range, okoyo is around 88-89 because thats not what DTs do. You might as well make the arguement that DTs would suck at CB because they arent fast so this trade should go through. I made the statement because you put fourth the fact that DE>DT increases rating, not because its not their initial position. An upgraded rating is great and all but when the player is performing at less that usual standards than what's the point. And I would much rather have a strong DT. Forcing the quarterback out of the pocket is (Ive found) best done from a bullrush to collapse it, that way the QB wont step UP into the pocket if he feels a presence coming from the sides. And as we all know, if you force a QB out of his pocket then hes got a lot of decisions to make in little time, best chance to force a turnover.

| I think this issue with this deal was not Dingle and Okoye. Those two if not perfectly equal were very close. It came down to the LB for the 3rd rounder. It mattered whether he was 75 at MLB or 75 at OLB. In most cases a 75 MLB is more valuable than a 75 OLB. While we don't value a MLB at their rating at OLB which is usually a good deal higher. Also MLB tend to progress faster than Olb's (this is just one of those things with Maddens last gen progression system) | |
